Latin and Ballroom dancing is a collection of party dances where you move along the dance floor along the rhythm of music in dance variations. There are two main forms. The first is the Ballroom style. These dances go against the clock over the entire dance floor. As a couple, you move constantly, moving from pattern to pattern and variation to variation. The lessons we teach are the Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep.

The second type is called the Latin dance style. With these dances, you can stay somewhere more in one place on the dance floor. These are energetic dances that reflect the synchronized rhythm of the music. The classes we teach are Jive, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba and Paso Doble.

Is Latin and Ballroom dancing something for me?

Latin and Ballroom dancing is a sport for people of all ages and backgrounds. You do not need any special skills or dance skills. Our groups consist of people of different ages. We have couples in the early twenties and couples of  seventy year old who all have so much fun in our dance classes. In our dancecenter we choose not to make any difference in age for our Latin and Ballroom courses. Through experience we have learned (our family has been giving danceclasses since 1947, so this year already for 70 years!), that this is the most sociable way of teaching. Dancing is a great way of enjoying yourself, for all ages! It’s a skill that can be learned and stay with you for your entire life. It’s also a great sport to keep you healthy and fit because the necessary sweat droplets appear during our classes.

How is Latin and Ballroom Dancing taught to beginners?

Individual lessons can be taught and you can participate in one of the many group lessons. Private lessons are often used to teach a particular dance for a special event, such as your wedding. We then teach you a unique opening dance on your music with a choreography that fits perfectly with you as a brides couple. But also getting you to a higher level is possible in a short period of time by means of Private dance lessons by to improve your skills in a very short timeframe.

In both courses, the dance teacher explains the character of the dance and its music. And teaches you the appropriate dance frames (the body / arm position for each dance partner), the footwork and the timing. This is first practiced without music and later with music, together with your dance partner. The higher the level of the lessons you join, the more variations you will learn. You will find that you will soon become comfortable with a lot of dances from Latin and Ballroom styles so you can perform the dance independently.

How do I start dancing with Latin and Ballroom?

It’s very easy to start the lessons. Just come to us for a free introduction lesson at the beginning of each season. You will see that it is fun and you quickly learn the movements and steps and start dancing.
Have you had dance lessons before and already have the necessary experience? Then you can of course also participate in our advanced lessons. Call us or come by and we find the right level for you. You will be amazed how fast you’ve mastered the first dance and what you can do after the first 14-week course. Before you know, you have a new hobby with your partner.

Free dance events

A few times a month we also organize free dance events. These events are open to everyone to enjoy dancing. You can practice the skills you have learned during the lessons and experience how to dance well together. During these dance events, there are people of all levels and skills. This makes it even more fun.

Flexibility

Each season we start several courses. That means you can always catch up on your missed lesson (because of illness, work or vacation) on another day. You may also want to join extra lessons if you like, this is always useful if you want to follow the lesson twice. All this costs you no extra money, just a little extra of your time. We also regularly organize additional classes during the course for those who have had a slight delay in the classes or for the dancers who want to master the details.

So what are you waiting for!! Sign up or send us your question.
